The Slurp & Burp Nursing Cover is worn like a sash. Put it over your head and rest the burp cloth on one shoulder. Now put your opposite arm through the loop of material. Whatever arm you put through the loop will be the side your baby nurses on. Make sure the layers of material are untangled and laying flat across the front, side, and back of your body. Pull the outer layer of material up toward your collar bone and the inside layer down toward your belly. Keep the layers slightly overlapping. Reach under the material and prepare your breast for nursing. You must be wearing a shirt that allows your breast to be accessible from the top.** Cradle your baby facing you and separate the layers of material just enough to achieve latch on. The top layer of material is soft enough to rest on baby's face and provide complete coverage of your breast. When you have finished nursing, re-layer the material and reach under the material to reposition your breast into your shirt. Hold baby facing the burp cloth to catch any spit up. There's no need to remove your Slurp & Burp Nursing Cover when you're ready to nurse on the other side... simply switch shoulders with the burp cloth and switch arms through the loop. Now the Slurp & Burpcrosses your body in the opposite direction. When nursing is complete, take the Slurp & Burp Nursing Cover off, flip it inside out, and roll it up. Use the elastic loop to secure the Slurp & Burp Nursing Cover so it remains compact inside your bag. There is even a little cotton loop you can use to hang it up. You may want to practice using your Slurp & Burp Nursing Cover in a private setting and before you know it, you'll be nursing here, nursing there, nursing anywhere!!! **Breastfeeding via the top of your shirt promotes better posture while nursing. It encourages mom to lift and cradle her baby at breast level rather than rounding downward and slouching forward. In addition, mom is able to keep her belly covered without layering shirts or wearing belly bands.
